No, we did not learn to do the Electric Slide. This was something very new I wanted to try with my preschool class. I gave them pieces of Christmas lights and some 9 volt batteries. They had to try and make the lights light up. Some figured it out quickly and some got frustrated too quickly. I also put out a mini Snap Circuits set. They were very intrigued with it. They have to snap in the pieces and make them connect in order to make a fan spin, or turn on a light, or sound the buzzer. At first I had out the instruction booklet which had step by step pictures and I talked them through it. Then I noticed that they just wanted to explore. So I stepped back and let them experiment. Again, some got frustrated and some caught on. It is also good for building their fine motor muscles because they have to use their fingers to pull apart the pieces and snap them together.
We also spent some time focusing more on the letters in our names. We unscrambled lettered snowflakes to spell our names and we cut letters apart and put them on a graph. One side of the graph was for "letters in my name" and the other side was for "letters not in my name."
