Next week I will start giving the children some jobs in the classroom. We have 18 students, so they might not get a job everyday (unless I can come up with 18 jobs). We are still slowly getting into a routine. I finally got all the students to finish their suns. Some children wanted to cut more pieces to glue on their sunny picture that they created last week. I figured....why not? It's good practice using scissors!
Another fine motor activity involved poking a finely sharpened pencil into dots on a paper to form a star. This was also a good exercise for strengthening their eye-hand coordination.
The children drew their beginning of the year self-portraits. I always love doing this to see their growth from the beginning of preschool to the end of the year.
Another fine motor activity had the children pealing off lettered stickers to spell their first name.
More preschool fun!
